Adoption/Sales Agreement

K & K Puppies - Sales Agreement:

1/1/21

As a part of the SALES  AGREEMENT we guarantee your new puppy to be of sound health and temperament at the time of sale.

Your puppy will come with all age appropriate vaccinations and dewormings, but he/she will need additional medical service, determined by your veterinarian, to be fully vaccinated.  We will provide a record of all services (vet visits, vaccinations, dewormer, etc.) your puppy has received prior to leaving us for your home.  You and your veterinarian should work together to establish what vaccinations and care your puppy will receive after he/she leaves our home.

Our goal is to provide you with a quality puppy that becomes an intricate member of your family.  In the unfortunate event that your puppy is found to have congenital or hereditary disorders that adversely affect its health, we will replace your puppy with one from a future litter.  The cause of condition will have to be certified and recorded by a licensed veterinarian.  In addition, you may be asked to submit x-rays or have the condition verified with a second veterinarian.  We cannot guarantee that your puppy will never become ill or need more than routine veterinary care, and this guarantee does not cover the reimbursement of any veterinary bills associated with this puppy.

We ask that you have your veterinarian do an examination of your puppy not more than 5 days after receiving your puppy.  After your veterinarian has examined your puppy please submit a copy of your puppy's medical record to us for his/her files.  You can email it to deberly@wawasee.k12.in.us or text a photo to 574-527-5590.  Failure to comply to this request will void your puppy's guarantee.

Exceptions to the Guarantee:

We cannot guarantee the disposition or temperament, conformation, size, weight, or color of your new puppy.

We cannot replace your puppy for hip or elbow dysplasia if your puppy is overweight or has not received proper care.

We cannot replace your puppy if routine medical care has NOT been maintained for your puppy. This includes all vaccines, deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea and tick prevention. You are required to have your puppy seen annually by your veterinarian and maintain all vaccines and preventative care as recommended by your veterinarian.  You are required to submit a copy of your puppy's medical records after each visit.
This guarantee does not include any costs associated with spaying and neutering this puppy including that of undescended testicles.
Failure to receive adequate and regular veterinary care will void this guarantee.

We cannot guarantee your puppy if you have allowed him/her to do activities inappropriate for his/her age such as agility training (or like activities) prior to the age of one, ramp work, jumping, distance training and like activities.  Such activities are dangerous for growing joints and bones in young dogs and should be avoided until they are physically ready to participate.

We cannot guarantee your puppy if he/she becomes a stud (males dogs) or becomes pregnant (female dogs) prior to 2 years of age and/or prior to the appropriate health and DNA testing.

Furthermore, we recommend that you wait until your puppy has reached the age of one to have him/her neutered or spayed.   According to the AKC, there is increasing evidence that indicates there may be long term health benefits to spaying or neutering AFTER they have passed through puberty.  Benefits can include a reduction in orthopedic problems, a reduction in certain cancers, and improved behavior.  Research is ongoing, but there is NO evidence of ill-effects due to waiting on these medical procedures.

Request of Continued Care:

The Kayty Clause

If at any time you are unable to care for your puppy, we ask that you please contact us to help you find a new home rather than taking him or her to a pound.  This is to ensure that our puppies are cared for throughout the entirety of their lives.  If necessary we would gladly take the puppy back to find him or her a new home because we just do not want our puppies to be in a situation where they are not given the love and care that they need and deserve.

Puppy Deposit:

The puppies from our litters are often reserved prior to birth, therefore, you can reserve a puppy from a future litter by placing a deposit.  A deposit of $300 will reserve your place in the selection process.  Beginning once the puppies are about 6 weeks old, we will work through the list of families in the order that deposits are received to determine which puppy goes to which family.   If you want to change your choice to a non-reserved puppy you may do so at anytime prior to pick-up.  If you reserve a specific sex prior to birth and there are not enough of that specific sex available for the requested deposits, you may either transfer your deposit to the next litter or have your deposit refunded.  If at anytime prior to pick-up you decide not to take a puppy from the current litter, you can either transfer your deposit to a future litter or forfeit the $300 deposit.
